What a wonderful idea. Unfortunately we don't have a balcony either but maybe we could grow fresh herbs at the window, and I love the idea of filling our home with flowers to remind us of a garden in the meantime :)

Hi Storie, apartment living in London and so no garden for us at the moment, but we did look after our friends' garden one summer and I was amazed at the number of tomatoes that grew, we had heaps to share with the neighbours too :)

Ed, you make me laugh! Rashes are like weeds!
Are you sure you didn't mean radishes? :-)

HLFM~ WOW! I have not had this happen before with tomatoes! It will be fun to see what comes of the plants. I have thinned them some. I think they are cherry tomatoes! :-)

yes!! It is an amazing thing! We had a bulldozer come and tear out our huge dead tree and our beautiful garden of sunflowers(that couldn't be rescued by me) there was nothing left not even one green twig. Everything was gone. So I thought....just the other day I saw tiny little sunflowers peck through all the rocks. It makes me smile. And of course I start thinking how true it is spiritually, that in the surface of things, somethings may seem dead, hopeless, ruined, or over! But God..has a work under the surface, growing, and multiplying that we never knew about. I am so learning more and more that God is always working for good to those who love him!

I have four rose bushes in my backyard that I planted and trim and water and feed and talk to softly and bundle up for winter. And when, after all that work, a great rose blooms in a rich crimson red and the petals shine like silk in the sunlight...

Last year we let each of our three children choose what they wanted to plant and take care off. My oldest son chose mint and this year that one little plant has over taken and intertwined with the strawberries. I am not much of a gardener but I am amazed at how not only the mint but the strawberries have spread 10 fold....... it is a wonderful picture of how our Lord brings so much fruit from our little seeds of faith.
