In so many ways time is like money. I am sure that many of you have heard the saying that
“time is money”. Not that money is to be the ruler of our lives…but it does provide us with choices.
But how do you manage your time, and how do you decide where to spend it?
I’ve always heard that time is more precious than money. That you can always make more money but you can’t make more time.
I feel like I’m doing better these days with how I spend my time but this is something I did not pay much attention to until I had kids. These days I’m really evaluating how i spend time to make sure I have plenty of it for them!
Time… when you are in ministry and have teens and a 7 year old. Time is simply gone.
I found my balance most days….
Yes, I would rather find time in my schedule for maybe a coffee with a friend or something meaningful, than wasting time in a line.
hmmm…im not a good time manger lately. summers are typically hard for me in that area. i just seem to coast by.
i dont like schedules. but i need them.
Sorry guys being retired means I have all the time to do anything I want.
I just don’t have the money to do some things I like, such as travel.
I enjoy my long walks on the beach, and spending time there with friends, more than anything.
I don’t have to be at work at any specific time, I just show up based on what needs to get done that day.
There isn’t a lot of money to be made right now in this industry so I just accept that and leave myself open for the change.
Something will come up. It always does.
When not at the office I ride my bike, go to the gym,and spend time doing company research on my laptop.
Sometimes I do nothing at all and I try doing it without feeling guilt.

Hi Storie, thanks for this. I’d really like to get better at using my time well. You’re right, it is a really precious thing. It also reminds me of that verse in the Bible about redeeming time – “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time ..” Ephesians 5:15-16. It makes me think it is something on God’s heart too, the way that we use our time. God bless.
Pete, yes, I agree whole heartedly that time is more precious than money!
I also know that I personally waste time doing things that yield no fruit…
It is an intricate balance!:-)
Heidi…It is so true that time invested in one thing is time away from another activity! So much better to invest it in people than anything else!
(however, this gets me into hot water so many times because I don’t plan enough time to recoup or get organized!)
It is such a balancing act, isn’t it?
Tam, yes…..I do relate. I love summer. Especially when you are a SAM (stay at home mom!)
Kids are out….I am so tempted, and often do, run the same schedule as them: stay up a little later, sleep in a little later than usual….pool time, hang out, blog time:-) ha ha!!
BTW, when are we going to do pool time?
Ed, hey…you’ve earned the priveledge!!
I am so jealous…long walks on the beach are my favorite way to unwind….:-)
TRN~You have earned and worked hard to be where you are. It says a lot about the amount of time you have invested in people and the corporation you own, or work for. That alone is impressive!
Exercise….hmmmmmm….yes. It is amazing how much it helps! What a GREAT way to spend time.
No guilt….you have earned it. Although when you work hard, it is hard not to feel that way when you stop and rest…i understand that.
Birgit~
I love this verse, and I needed to hear it!
Thank you so much for sharing it with me….I needed to hear this.
I am blessed by you!:-)
