What is the best gift you have ever been given?
Or a card, with a hand-written note?
Cards are my favorite. My husband has figured that out after 19 years of marraige!
I just love to get a note from him…in my stocking on Christmas, on my pillow, at the coffee pot…..
“What is the best gift you have ever been given?”
A CD.
I adore cards too, the thoughts and words inside are such a blessing
“What is the best gift you have ever been given?”
My daughter. She is the best gift God ever gave me.
My mother had a heart condition and the doctors told her it could kill her to have children. She gave birth to my and my sister so the serious answer to your question is my life.
That and my Hopalong Cassidy model, with him on his trusty horse Topper, and a matching dinner plate. I eat off that plate every night.
I think my favorite gift was from my hubby…he wrote messages on the window and mirror when he took his shower, and they appeared while I was taking mine…It was da coolest…hope all is well with you!!!! Love ya!
Nor~
really?
Birgit,
ahhh…a kindred heart….once again! we love cards/letters…expressions of the heart:-)
what is the nicest gift you think you have ever received?
a time when you perhaps got a gift and thought, “this was so thought out. this person really knows me.”
TT~
I have 3 daughters, and feel the same.
I’d love to hear more….
Ed,
Ok, you are making me cry now.
seriously.
Talk about love being ‘risky business’.
I am so glad you were born!
Deborah,
This is past tense. Hopefully it is still an occasional occurrence!!
How sweet!!
hugs,
Storie
Storie:
Yep! Can’t stop listening to it, either.
Hi Storie, that’s a tough one
There are gifts I received as a child from my mother, and gifts that my husband has given me, that have had the effect you mention.
I remember when I was little my Mum finding a way to give me a particular doll I had my heart set on against all the odds. This gift is one of my most special.
My husband had a book bound of all our early emails (we lived in different countries before we married). This is an amazing gift!
LOL Yes Storie, he is a hopeless romantic and comes up with fun ways to tell me he loves me and vice-versa…
I’ve been thinking about this question, and there really are so many…Christ, kids, super marriage, family…ok, I’ll leave now! have a super weekend..
The best gift I have ever recieved was a pair of knit socks with a map of the world printed on them. My son gave them to me on fathers day some 16 years ago. I still have them, they are tucked away in a corner of my dresser.

Birgit,
Do you still have the doll your mom gave you?
book-bound emails….that is too sweet….so sweet! Where was he from?
1godsgal~
why do I feel as though we should know eachother?
TRN~Do you ever wear them?
Yes I wear them every Fathers Day. If I wore them any more they would have holes in them by now.
Adam
Hi Storie,
I do still have her, yes, she is very precious
Michael is also a New Zealander like me but he was living in London while we were engaged. We now live in London together, but will eventually go home.
Yes, he had all of our emails printed onto this beautiful paper as well as photos etc and had it all bound. It captures those early days perfectly.
