I am so glad you are writing again. I can't really talk because I write like once every six months! :-)

I think one thing right now that God is communicating to me about the things swirling in my mind is not so much how to overcome the winter doldrums, but rather how to let go of the brokenness I've suffered and suffer from the unloving ways of others. Forgiveness for myself, my wife, my daughter and others has been at the forefront of my mind. One of our pastors talked about it yesterday morning, and our youth pastor told us to let it go a week ago Sunday.

Obviously, from my latest blog, these are the things I'm struggling with, and The Shack has made a reappearance on my desk as well. I would dare say I would never wish upon my worst enemy what Mack went through in The Shack, but Jesus challenges me every single day to love everyone unconditionally. That requires a faith, not in my abilities to love them unconditionally, rather it requires I submit to a love that works deeper then the sentiments I feel when I hear an amazing song that produces tears.

I think Michael W. Smith reminded me with a song he performed.

"When the music fades, and all is stripped away, and I simply come. Longing just to be something that's of worth, that will bless your heart. I'll bring you more than a song. For a song in itself is not what you have required. You search much deeper within, than the way things appear. You're looking into my heart..."

There's been many artist to lead us into worship with that song, but the One God created the message to be lived. I love what music does for me, but I pray that the message will empower me to love the unlovable when the rubber meets the road.

Thanks for reading my book!! :-)

Ed,
The tracking animals in the snow sounds like my husband. This is the best time to hunt, so he tells me b/c you can see where they have gone, and walking in fresh snow isn't noisy. I can't imagine that "hunting" is your gig though. You seem to me to be more of a thoughtful observer. ;)

Ed, thank you....for the reminders that winter does have it's own beauty...besides making us appreciate the other seasons!
I think these lyrics are some of the most beautiful I have read....I will have to hear them put to song.
So great being in touch again!

Jac, I have so much to learn from you. These are some really great reminders...especially in stressful times! The celebration of our dear Lord and Saviour is coming. I want it to honor Him in all ways, especially that of my attitude! Love you sister!

Darcy, of course you are welcome here! It is a place to pour a cup of tea, or cocoa, coffee, something warm, put on your favorite cozy clothes and enjoy! It's kind of like a time of gathering in the living room around the hearth with good friends.
I am so glad you came!
big hugs,
Storie
